Dear DCBIA Community,
As you know, the COVID-19 global pandemic is ever-evolving and will have significant long-term implications. DCBIA's highest priority is your safety and well-being, and ensuring exceptional service delivery to our members. We are also focused on maintaining a strong and valuable partnership with city leaders.
As we traverse uncharted territory together, DCBIA will continue to abide by the direction of local authorities. We also remain in regular communication with the Bowser Administration and DC Council to receive important, relevant information and resources, and to offer any assistance to local officials on behalf of the industry. We want to keep the government informed of the impact on the industry and our city, particularly over the next two weeks since slowdowns in the issuance of permits and other approvals are expected.
As a precaution, we are postponing all in-person DCBIA gatherings through Tuesday, March 31. We are working with committee and working group co-chairs to hold meetings via conference call and webinars in order to continue to provide content-rich programming and timely information.
To ensure your safety, we are postponing our Annual Dinner. We have secured a new date - Thursday, September 3 - for DCBIA Achievement Awards at the Anthem at the Wharf. We want to thank the sponsors who have committed so far. We will market the best night in DC real estate development as appropriate and will make changes if needed. I am hopeful that we can break bread together as an industry. The night will have a very special meaning this year.
Our members and partners are our most valuable assets. We are also in regular communication with our business association partners, Federal City Council, the DC Chamber of Commerce, Apartment & Office Building Association of Metro Washington, and others.
Please reach out to us for support, to help you anticipate concerns and develop solutions. DCBIA has invested in the tools that staff need to work remotely. You can continue to reach the DCBIA by email or calling the office number at (202) 966-8665.
The Mayor will hold a press conference at 4pm today. Any new or timely information will be shared after the presser.
